Not seen the postie round here today, don't think she's made it

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

My sis is on crutches following her hip op- so I had to clear her path a couple of times over Xmas and put table salt down to keep it clear - in her street the residents tend to clear the footpath in front of their gates as well. I found the best thing was to sweep the snow off asap before it got welded to the surface with ice. Then salt over the cleared surface (as a neighbour commented - doin' the shake 'n vac!)
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I remember hearing somewhere that cat litter is very effective too.

“If your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life.”

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Charles Churchill : A dog will look up on you; a cat will look down on you; however, a pig will see you eye to eye and know it has found an equal
                        .

Yes, I'd forgotten about throwing the ashes down - and the "gleads" (coke bits) used to make a horrible grindy/scraping sound as you walked on them that set your teeth on edge.

Snadge, you keep making me remember things I'd forgotten all about, if you know what I mean

What the BBC has to say:

BBC News - Is it your civic duty to clear snow?
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

In Scotland the First Minister advised, yesterday, that you would not be held liable if you had salted the public footpath for the benefit of others.

I did salt my path for the postie, and it worked really well until we had fresh snow.
Now all the shops have sold out of salt, so he'll have to take his chances.
