Mr Z is on enforced leave for a week [unpaid, they closed work down for a week to save �] and has set himself up in the front room.

Sofa has a blanket on it.

My old Dell laptop is hotwired into broadband so he doesn't have to use the wireless network [too slow]

The TV is plugged into the sports channel.

He pops out to eat, get a drink, and check up on me

Not sure I'm ever going to be able to remove him from this set up.....he's a little too settled if you ask me.

Aah, men! At least he is safely out of the way rather than trying to push me off my mac [mine, all mine].

Anyone's men at home this week and under their feet? How are you coping? Have they got additional chores to be going on with?

Also applies to men who are usually at home...in the interests of balance.

We are both retired, since July. It helps that we each have our own lap-top, neither likes daytime TV (or sport), we each have different hobbies as well as some hobbies in common so we don't get under each other's feet. I do feel that you need your own space and time. You also, however, need to agree that it isn't always the same person that brews up!

Mine's still in bed, it looked a bit like this when it crawled in last night/this morning. It did have a few more cloth's on though . I'm referring to him as It, cos it was sick and missed the toilet completely, dew to him going in the cellar....don't ask

I do the coffee and he does the tea. I cook and he does the dishes. So, we don't really argue about that [it's the law, unless one or other is disposed for whatever reason and then we swap]....he's a very good boy all in all.

OH is in work until Thursday lunch time but I finished last Thursday. To be honest it's been good as I've had the time to have a really good tidy round, finish sorting Christmas pressies etc. Only down side is the weather hasn't been good enough to get up the lottie which I had hoped to manage. Get loads more done when he's not here as I don't get distracted and start chatting although am spending rather too much time on the computer which is a bit sad.

I have to laugh at him, cos he gets all lovey and kissy when he's had a drink or 20, I'm just glad its not every week...I'd be up for man slaughter .

I must be going wrong somewhere. I do my share of the cleaning, the washing, ironing. Don't drink, keep the garden tidy. Guess I'm just gonna have to start drinking & smoking again & staying out all night cos it sounds like that's all we are good for.

My OH doesnt finish till xmas eve this year but then he doesnt return till 4th Jan ugh, he will be on the computer most of the time, I bet he doesnt do the decorating that needs finishing. I put a list on the fridge ' Jobs to do before christmas'. I said I didnt want to be the only one doing it all, guess what ? I am as usual, as he has got older he is more lazy.

I finish late Wednesday until 4th Jan, and have no hubby cluttering up the place, but I do have 2 teenagers slobbing about the place. This year they may (hopefully) be revising for GCSEs and ASs, well that is what they should be doing anyway so i might just get to watch some Christmas films that I want on and do a few things about the house that need doing. Other than that, if we start to irritate each other, I have the lottie this year, and they each have their friends that they can go and moan to about me.
My main problem will be getting onto the computer, I may have to impose a daily time limit on them.

Mr. G will be working up to and including Crimbo eve. Then we'll bimble about together for a week or so. I've just ordered all the 'bits n bobs' off a list he gave me, as he's planning to rebuild his Landy's engine next week whilst he's off work.

I'll ably assist in the workshop (make tea, pick up thrown spanners, provide plasters) and in return, he'll do a bit of weeding and generally help with a few jobs I want done, if the snow ever clears. If it doesn't clear he'll sit in front of the TV all week

I sit in front of the telly when there's sport on, but then I am only getting under my dogs feet, so its not too bad. (And he's told me he likes sport anyway).
When there's no sport I dont have the telly on, and am busy doing "mans stuff."
