It sounds like you've been prescribed the same sort of stuff that I was given for my hands... Just make sure someone else is keeping an eye on the state of your head, would hate to see anyone else in the state I was in. On the plus side, it did make my hands better, for a little while.

my heads ..... buggered anyway lol .... once it actually goes it should hopefully not re-appear for years ... but gotta be monitored ... to be honest right now if they said chopping my head off would work i'd give it a try

I know its completely different but it took me years to see a skin specialist as I have horrendous eczema that rendered me unable to move. Once I saw a specialist it mostly cleared up. I so sympathise with you as I understand how bad skin can make you feel x

it's the first time i've seen one since i was 16, when they tried everything available ... even leprosy pills lol .... but other than the steroids making me put a couple of stone on, nothing had any effect..... one of the main problems is it's so rare theres not really any specific treatments, just trial and error.

Oh dear Lynda, I've just looked up granuloma annulare and it made me itch just reading about it - you must be fed up with it by now. I hope the treatment works very quickly for you. Everything crossed for you x

lol and the pics you found when googling are mostly localised to hands and ankles ... i know, i googled too .... if it didn't itch it would be much easier to handles as long as i don't do mirrors or go out where people can stare lol

Loads of hopeful vibes etc. I know a little about the problems of a rare ailment. My son has an arthritic condition, the origins of which are still not well known ('it's a virus') and they don't really know what to do for him, apart from treat the symptoms and hope for the best!
Waiting lists tend to be shorter further north...... (once you get as far as Orkney you see the specialist next time he is anywhere near, even if that is next day!)

So was mine, but this was like nothing I've ever been through, and I never ever want to go through it again Although the doctors were much to blame, because they weren't montoring my mental state at all, just doing bloodwork/blood pressure etc. every 2 weeks and looking at my hands to see if it was working. So yeah, if you seem to be getting paranoid or excessively depressed... make sure you mention it
Fingers crossed that they work though, and sorry if I seem a doom merchant. Just think that forewarned is forearmed

I just hope you get it all sorted. I had steroids at one point too. I just hope this works for you. I really do! Ill be keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you x

faint idea how you feel..the Lymes disease made my skin go like psoriasis anywhere I knocked or scraped myself, itched like hell, broke open and bled. All I was given was Steroids which helped only for the days I used it. And as its on my hands and soles of my feet (as well as legs etc) it drove me mad. In the end I started taking serrapeptase, an enzyme with anti-inflammatory effects, which was really to help with the arthritis, but as a side effect it also controls the skin breakouts..yippee.
