I was going to buy a Chicken for this weekend's roast, till I remembered we've got a turkey in the freezer. We're at the In-laws for Crimbo, so may well have Turkey this weekend.

        I luuuuurve turkey!

February ones are fab, you tend to get better food and it's something nice to look forward to in the grey days of that time of year. Admitedly they shouldn't call them Christmas do's then but apart from that, really good. My work have a proper big do every June and that works well too.

December 26th for me!! Not fit for much at the moment and as it's just OH and me for Christmas day we'll treat ourselves to a nice fillet steak. The turkey comes with the madness of Boxing Day, family descend at different times and feeding them seems to go on all day! Quieter than usual this year as pregnant DD (plus OH and the 2 grandchildren) will be close to popping and needs to stay near home! It's going to be an exciting new year!

Our staff dinner is on the 16th . Can't remember whether I chose the turkey option or not so I'll be having a surprise. Then it'll be the big day itself. For years we used to have a really nice expensive cut of beef but we've now gone back to having turkey.

well all I can say is - don't send these boys to war!!

Last year we went to the Red Lion in XX village, SD tells me this year the Red Lion at XX village again - bearing in mind he is Top Cop on unit so his boys do all the work.

We get to Red Lion at XX village, at appointed time, only to be met with boys saying 'it's the wrong Red Lion Flight Serg, we need to do to XXX village, but we have to wait for all others to turn up so we can tell them, cos most haven't got their phones on them'.

When all are present and correct, off we trundle to XXX village! Thankfully the one organising* (!!) had called ahead to say 'erm, we are at wrong Red Lion and will be with you soonest'

Fair play to them (Red Lion at XXX), they were totally sorted and ready for us and the turkey wasn't in the least bit dry considering 'we' were one hour late!!!

I had to say rather loudly, whilst at the bar, 'don't send these boys to Afghan, they will invade Australia'

                  ROFLMAO
