    I don't think I say it enough . When I was growing up we weren't a family for hugs and kisses etc.,.He is much more demonstrative than me. Anyway I've tried to be more like that with my two daughters and I'm sure we are closer then I was with my mum.

    {Note to self:- remember to tell OH how much I love him when he gets in. }

      What a super thread. Such a pleasure to read nice people saying nice things about their other halves

        I've told 2 girls I love them.
        The first one; because I didn't want to upset her.
        The second one; because I thought it would keep her.

        I think I meant it at the time, but now I know I never really felt it, they were just words.
        The ideal relationship, for me, would be one where I needn't ever say it, she just knows it and I know it too. Sadly not sure if such a thing exists.

        I'm not being sinical, they're just the facts.

        I do love you guys though

              If I told wor lass I loved her or brought her a bunch of flowers she'd just think I was after something or had another woman!

                My late OH's last concious words were "I love you, Janie. Don't leave me." The "don't leave me" was because he wanted me to stay by his bedside in the hospital.

                I have now found someone else. We've been in an on/off thing for about a year and have both told each other we don't want anything serious. Last Friday we both said the L word and I think we scared each other. We haven't seen or contacted each other since. It's now either totally on or a complete disaster .

                    Oh used to buy me flowers, send me cards, run a bath and more, now I am lucky if he says hello when he comes in the door, he does say goodbye in the mornings though and goodnight when I take myself off to bed. We dont do things together very much any more. We have never been ones for going out for meals or drinks. I cant remember when he last told me he loved me, he even forgot to say wether I looked nice on our wedding day. I tend to turn up to family gatherings on my own or with our daughter.
                    He isnt romantic at all, I used to tell him I loved him but got fed up with him not saying anything, not in return but at other times. We hardly speak and he spends most evenings in the other room .

                      EDIT: It is a man thing!! I know he does love me, and he shows me in lots of different ways, but it would be nice to hear the words occasionally! He's not especially tactile either, so we are kind of like chalk and cheese, but it works
                      Kirsty I think we may be married to the same man! Twins separated at birth or something It used to really upset me that MrH isn't demonstrative, but I am used to it now. Having said that about once a month I have a whinge about him not being lovey dovey etc but thats just me hormones
                      He shows me he loves me in lots of odd ways though, scrambled eggs when I am feeling sad, pitching out to the art exhibition last night when he could have thought of 101 other things to do, that kind of thing.
