I thought he seemed a really nice bloke and he was THE focus of my female hormones for quite a few years. Testament to the fact that you CAN be a movie star and not be a complete ass.

RIP Swizzle Hips. The world will be a sadder place without you in it.

Now that is such sad news, I thought he was wonderful and he was a champion to a lot of people with cancer, I watched a program of him and his lovely wife only a few weeks ago, he was still so positive that he would be here at " Christmas".
A star has gone out, God Bless.

Very sad, he was a really nice guy it seems, and brave. Like so many I've loved Dirty Dancing since I was a kid. He really tried to be positive about his diagnosis - that must have been very difficult.

lol, me too. I was livid they wrecked it at the end, and I don't even like Mercs normally! That was my favourite film with him, I think. Partly because at the very end, where he dives in the lake, he's nekkid. I used to have a video with 'freeze frame' function. Nuff said.

Dont watch films and he certainly didnt raise my heart rate, but agree with the concensus that he seemed to be a thoroughly nice bloke.
Saw an interview about 6 months ago now and he was so determined to beat his illness, and he came across as a decent man, despite his Hollywood fame and fortune.

Real shame, only a young fella too.

He seemed like a genuinely lovely man. Married to his childhood sweetheart for all these years and all the temptations that his career could throw at them. Watched Ghost at the weekend, can feel Dirty Dancing being watched this weekend coming. RIP a great talent and gorgeous man...

Its a real shame as he always seemed to be a nice man. Loved his films too, Dirty Dancing will always be one of my favourites. Had a huge crush on him in my teens
