Mr F has stopped making such comments as being shown where the hoover is kept wasn't what he intended!

The best thing to say is "Am I the only person to live here?" "Am I the only person to use the bathroom?" "Do I only cook for myself?" etc. etc.
It is frustrating when men think that all they have to do is go out to work and all women have to do is go out to work AND do all the cooking, cleaning , washing up etc. and really can't see why you complain. After all their mothers did it! More fool them, I say!!

These husbands and partners you're all talking about; have they ever lived on their own?
I only ask, because I'm single (hint to any takers!) AND I live on my own, so I have to do the whole lot myself.
Admittedly, I don't have any kids to look after (although I think a few of my friends might qualify). And my house isn't the tidiest, but I can't imagine living with someone and expecting them to take over ALL the duties I currently do.

          Perhaps I'm just perfect

Yes, Mr S lived alone for about a year after his divorce and pre-me.

When we were courting I was very impressed that I'd found an evolved male ... the house was clean, he cooked me veggie food from scratch... he even had an ironing board as well!

Then I found out he got his 68 year old Mum round once a week to do his chores for him, while he sat on his butt watching the sport channel

He's not daft, and he doesn't see that he is doing anything wrong. We used to have bitter rows about his laziness and untidiness, but now I just put all his discarded stuff in a pile for him to sort out or chuck out.

Yep, over-reacting, but under the circumstances, entitled to do so (why should anyone be expected to NEVER over-react?)
If he is trying to be helpful, time to forgive him,...... until the NEXT stupid remark!

                    so folks, an update:

when i got in last night soaked from the torrential rain he had written 'sorry' on a whiteboard and left it propped up on a chair so I'd see it as soon as i got in; then when i went to bed (steady!!) i found a note under the duvet and he'd written "I really am veyr sorry" and then when he came home from work today he handed me, not one, but TWO bunches of flowers, gave me a kiss, said he was sorry AND that i was appreciated.....oh nearly forgot - he made the tea too...so i guess we are friends again.......and he might just think before he opens him mouth.....well maybe that's a bit too much to ask!!!

                      Wow!

Either you REALLY came down like a ton of bricks or he has had time to think and realises how much you do!

                      .. or possibly both!

Ah bless him - that's very nice of him to apologise regardless of where the blame started.

Have to say, reading this thread was very amusing even though it wasn't intended to be initially!

So we now know that we all share similar scenarios at home, and if we have single girl friends, we should be facebooking with Ollie and Mr S should give his mum and Lady Shed a big Thank-you hug each!

Oh, well, since someone else started it......

How many men does it take to open a can of beer?

It doesn't, it should be open when she brings it to you

How many men does it take to lower a toilet seat?

No - one knows, it's never been done

Aye, and then of course there's "why do women have small feet? So they can stand nearer to the sink!"

and if JT even THOUGHT about saying that I think he'd be in A&E!!
