Aren't they all? I used Marshall's last year and was amazed at the tiny amount of seed provided for well over 1 per packet. I am saving as much seed as I can this year, and am looking at Sutton's and Premier Seeds Direct on eBay.Originally posted by COMPOST CORNER View PostDoes anyone else think T&M are expensive for the number of seeds they put in a packet?

I hate paying full price for seeds at any time
thanks to Wyvales seed sale I have my self sorted out for next year for a fraction of what it would cost full price, with T & M seeds if it's the bulk standard crops Morrisons own seeds seem very cheap usually round the 50p mark and typically alot more seeds than the branded packets then you have Wilkinson own too, I know not everyone is lucky enough to have stores local to them, especally scotland, perhap next time I go to the sales I will take orders from anyone north of the borderThought For The Day

A good way of getting cheap seed is as enrich100 says - SEED SALES!!!
By all means use seed catalogues to make your wishlist and then go seed hunting to find all the ones you can at the discounted prices. Any you cannot find, just buy at full price or substitute for a variety you can find!All vehicles now running 100% biodiesel...

The catalogue is out online, but an interesting point, it says you get a 10% off voucher for your second order. If you intend to put in a large order with T&M, then maybe it makes sense to do a small one first, then a larger one, just be aware of p&p charges and make sure your savings are larger than paying 2 sets of these.
Edit: I've just been having a look through, and some seeds are still showing 'out of stock'. I wonder, why do they bring the catalogue out so early, before they have had the chance to restock all the varieties they intend to carry for the next season? (These could of course be the 2nd order you can make the 10% saving on
)

Absolutely! I paid 2.99 for a packet of 50 calabrese seeds last year, then discovered I could have got a pack of 300 (same variety) for 1.99 elsewhere (Organic Gardening Catalogue, I think). I do buy from T&M, though in recent years I've started taking their product descriptions with a pinch of salt, I know the idea of a catalogue is to try and sell you the products, but a little more honesty is called for, I think (not just T&M guilty of this, but I do think they're one of the worst offenders). You have to become really adept at reading between the lines and if something is not mentioned in the item's blurb then it's probably poor, for example they will tell you when a runner bean is stringless, but simply don't mention it if it isn't.Originally posted by COMPOST CORNER View PostDoes anyone else think T&M are expensive for the number of seeds they put in a packet?
