
I've been trying to make this all night, well, from 7pm anyway. My beetroot are now cooked, but the other ingredients are still like water. Not a happy bunny.
Ive peeled the beetroot and now the kitchen looks like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (you have had to have seen this in the early 80s!).
Decision made: it's all going in the slow cooker overnight. If it's ruined then fair enough.
I'm never going to do this again!

Has anyone else had any cooking disasters that you'll never do again?

,i cook my beets in a deep lidded casarol dish in the microwave,i fill it to just below the lid with the beets,and boiling water no more than1/3rd the way up full power aprox 30 mins,is a lot quicker and no splashing anywhere,with all the flavour still in,not boiled out,pop it in and it stops when is done,so no watching it,
