Gosh you lot. So organised! I was reading all those posts hanging my head in shame as usual.
Then adding it all up I'm doing pretty well too. Christmas puddings are made and so's the cake but not finished obvs as still pouring brandy into it.
Bottles and bottles of home made Liqueurs gently doing whatever it is they do.
Having bog standard Turkey as Daughter outlaw who is coming for CD is very pedestrian eater.
I'm a bhuddist which means I can do what I like so I celebrate the pagan yule aspects with hot alcohol, and cold too. I'm no snob. There'll be feasting and nailing up of holly and greenery. I hate tinsel and all that but love fairy lights. I love listening to the carols and so on all day and am looking forward to watching my tidgy 1 year old grandson open his presents. Or eat the box. Who knows?
Boxing day I'm spending with friends who have just made the dream come true and are raising ducks and chickens in their mud caked new home amidst their newly acquired acres.
Got various presents but haven't wrapped them. I 'l do it on Christmas eve with Carols playing and glass to hand.....
Co. Antrim has a 55% chance.
Forget Crimbo get the coal in.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
Hi everyone
Just want to report that we have a 45% chance of snow for Christmas according to the Met site - pretty good.
Better than that though, we got our Christams cards sent this year - 13 in all! Smallest number ever, and mostly to aged relatives who you can't ignore.
I'm making a sign for our window instead of giving all the neighbours individual cards (already got three from them):
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Seasons Greetings to you all,
we are saving trees this year.
Have a Happy Holiday
Jane & Andy
Think that might do? Fortunately we live on a terraced street, so everyone can see the window easily.

Wait til after crimbo they will all be trying to palm there used christmas trees off on you!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
We did all our present shopping on Friday, at small stores, as I hate crowds of people! Only bought little bits for everyone, as 's are tight as ever...
Put out tree up last night (artificial one, so the puppy doesn't feel so inclined to destroy it!)
Painted the kitchen, smallest bedroom, hallway, stairs and landing on Saturday...
We've got a Christmas meeting on Saturday with our best friends. We're "sharing" Christmas dinner with them this year, so are doing half each. Having my mum round on Boxing Day teatime.
That's about it really, except for the biscuits I'm making for pressies this year. Am starting them next week, with the help of Mr OWG (hopefully!)

Will you be swapping houses half way through?
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I'm doing turkey and trimmings, they are doing veg and roasties, we're both doing pudding (no-one likes traditional Christmas pud, so we're having an apple crumble and some home made shortbread...
It's 45% here or in the Channel Islands too. The nearest to Christmas we've had snow there was on my birthday many years ago. I was about 11 or 12 I think. It falls so rarely there I'm fairly safe in saying it is very unlikely.

That's the best bit of Christmas, when the smalls climb in the box and enjoy themselves! Lucky you. My 'small' is 20 this year and not yet producing offspring so we have a quiet time with plenty slurppy and music.
Enjoy
Well, with it being windy, drizzly and cold today I dont feel too bad at not having had a chance to get down the plot, but as it is my penultimate day off before xmas we went and did most of the xmas food shop! Turkey is home and in the freezer, a good selection of cheeses (13 of them!!!! Mr D likes his cheese!) is in the fridge, and all the food shopping is done bar a few fresh veg to be bought at the last minute (Which Mr D will get - he will of course have a list of what to get! lol!)!
We got a few more little prezzies today, an ace bargain in Tesco's, they were giving away vouchers for 2.50 off if you spend 10 on toiletries or perfume, and had some lovely L'Air Du Temp's (Nina Ricci) on offer at 9, down from 31 and some Police Aftershave on offer at 12, down from 26, so with the vouchers and Lee's staff discount we bought 88 worth of fine perfume / aftershave for the princely sum of 13.47!
Also got daughter 2 pairs of jeans, a lovely top and sweater and some PJ's, all for 18 (after discount, vouchers and offers!)
Got my staff a big tin of quality street, and decided that on our next day off (Tuesday bext week, my last day off before xmas day) we will find the tree and decorations and put them up, after we've been down to the plot of course!
So, pretty much prepared here now, cake is iced and decorated, mince pies made, prezzies all bought, just the house to clean and decorate and we'll be done!
