Bad news. But a lucky escape, it could have been much worse - rest & recuperation prescribed.

This is terrible, poor you! I am still is a state of disbelief that he could say he hadn't seen you - dozy pie-lock. Also made me go a bit cold, as the past couple of weeks I have been cycling my daughter Helena, aged 8, to and from school, and have been so aware of how vulnerable cyclists are (don't worry too much when it's just me, but ten times worse when she is with me). Shudder.

So relieved that you're not too badly hurt, but as others have said, you will no doubt ache like heck tomorrow. It's a b****r about the bike too, hope you can manage to get a replacement before too long, not so easy though if it was handbuilt. Milk that driver for every penny. Grrrrrrrrr

Just out of interest, did you have a reflective vest on? We go out dressed like beacons, but I'm sure we're still invisible to some (those that fly past too close, at umpteen miles per hour....). No excuse though, even if you weren't.

    Take care of yourself (((hugs))).

I agree. If he drove into you, and did not see you, he should be charged with reckless driving. I hope you are not too shook up and that you pursue all the way with the police.

Blummin heck TS! Glad to read it is only bruises, hope he coughs up for the bike and a bit of compensation for you too.

If the silly beggar can't see, he shouldn't be on the road!

I hope the driver was suitably mortified!

Obviously he should have seen you, but of course he 'didn't see you' - because if he had it means he deliberately ran you over!

I would like to think it shook him up too, and will make him rather more careful - as you say, it may not be a nasty knock and an 800 bike next time but a kiddie.

Hot bath, sympathy from Mr Sheds, a large glass of red this evening!

Sh*t!!! What a f*%$ing #@n*r!!! How the hell can he get away with "I didn't see"?! If you end up over the bonnet, then you were obviously there, and so he shouldn't be allowed on the road if he can't see stuff!! I am utterly confounded! I am very angry on your behalf If (God forbid) I ever had a cyclist off or had any other accident because 'I didn't see', I'd give up my license!!

Hope you don't feel too battered, for too long

Oh no not another accident! Still trying to deal with my Sam's accident last week. Hope you're okay. I'm still seething about the lorry driver who hit her so can imagine how you must be feeling

Hope you feel ok, I bet you will hurt a lot more tomorrow or the next day so hot baths and tlc all round. And esrly to bed.
It must have been a terrible shock. Hope you get the compo on the bike.

I was with my cousin once on a ZEBRA crossing and a car didn't stop and hit her... luckily she was ok.

I bet the driver has a thing about bikes or was doing something else instead - phone, fag, reading the sun...

So glad you weren't more hurt.

WOW, are you ok? That's terrible, boy your going to be sore in the morning, make the "BEEP BEEP" man pay for your bike, it makes me so angry that some drivers (not all) just don't give a "FLUFF" for other road user's, lets hope the police charge him, he might think twice in the future???

*tsk tsk - you should have remembered to take your invisibility cloak OFF when you are cycling.

Sorry hun, hope you are ok.....I would usually swear at this point so
    What a $%^&$ a$$^&*) @@$%$% car driving $$%^ with a $% for $@$s.

    xxx

PS - is that what they say now...I didn't see you? Can they really get away with that? It's hardly your word against theirs, if you ended up on the bonnet is it?

    Yikes!

That's awful. I hope you feel better soon and AT LEAST manage to get the bike paid for. It must be so frustrating.
