The veggie feast went down very well at the office and we had a good mix of western and eastern dishes. Everyone had a bash even the most die hard meat eaters. In fact the amount of requests I have had for the recipe for the goats cheese truffles has been over whelming.
I am pleased that herbivores, carnivores and omnivores all came together to meet and enjoy a great spread.
I have no issues about meat eaters commenting on this thread; yes "our" food is tasty but then I expect you will say the same about "your" food. As long as you are happy who cares!
For my fellow veggies I hope you enjoy the rest of veggie week and I made a fantastic roasted pepper lasagne for my dinner tonight and it was fab!

C'mon stop teasing! LOL Have you put the recipes on 'Season to Taste' for us all?
Glad it was so successful - Sounds delish! I'd have probably eaten everything!

I think Manda was just tired of having her veggie status commented on - like I get tired of being continually asked "well, what do you eat?" "why don't you eat meat?" "but you do eat fish, right?" etc etc.
People aren't usually that interested, they just want to trip you up with the leather shoes question.

Perhaps in future you could post a post telling me not to read the next post by yourself - oh right yeah thats why I had to read it, I didn't know what it said until I did!
Silly of me not to realise a thread about Veggie Week would be extolling meat-eating - oh and its okay to have some veggie food with your meat cos guess what it tastes nice! Lol!
Whatever...
Your first comment came over as "if you aren't one of the veggie club shut up on this thread". I think I over-reacted to that impression. Can we agree that we both have valid points of view, however different?

Maybe I was being dense, but I didn't see anything of that sort on here. I KNOW what veggies eat, whether vegan or otherwise (I've had enough such friends and acquaintances, and cooked for them!), and I got the impression that the other omnivores on here are similarly aware.
We were simply joining in the celebration that there is good meat-free grub out there, even if some of us don't want to live on it exclusively, and it was a bit annoying to be told off for this (and yes, I tend to over-react to that phrase from a certain TV program)!

When saw it was National Vegetarian Week, I though odd having at the time of year when there is not much grown to size to eat. Toms not ready, beans not ready, peas not ready, not much of anything worth grown on my plots to sustain for a week.
However the veg is rather expensive at present in the supermarkets.
Am I becoming old and cynical?
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
