have you tried the old standby of turning it off and on again?? also check the plug is in the back properly, we had one that was like that looked plugged in but wasn't, if not, can you not take it back to where you bought it from?
When you say it doesn't work does it show anything? Is the power light on? If there are channel up/down buttons on the box do they work but not the remote? How long did it work for?
There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.
Used to have a "free view" box but kept having problems.
But we have cable in our area(NTL/virgin)no problems since even the radio is wonderful.
We have had cable for over 3 years now.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I have no idea how any of it works and just let OH try and sort it out. I thought if anyone came up with anything he hasnt tried already he would think I was clever lol.
We bought it from Asda and it worked to start with its one that you can also record. It had aflashingg light but thats on constant now so maybe he has fixed it by turning it off and leaving it a while before turning it back on. I dont even know how to work the blooming thing lol and stick to sky.

Could be over heating- if it's not an expensive box then it might be prone to overheating, make sure vents are clear- try not to put anything on top of it.
you could also try hoovering through the vents to get rid of any built up dust!
We have just had to retune our freeview as they have been messing about with the main sending station, we switched on one morning to blank screens, just find the auto search push the button and wait till it reloads itself

no chance of any dust build up only been there a while its in a cool place gets lots of air up through the flloor boards from the cellar lol
Jackie don't know if it's coincidence but we had to re-tune our Freeview boxes this morning because Stockland Hill was turned digital last night (I've obviously got all the technical jargon going on here!). We're still picking up analogue signal from somewhere else - I'm really not sure how this all works, but it seems we're picking up signal from more that one transmitter and I'm thinking we'll have to re-tune more than once as the transmitters are graduallly turned over.
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Thats what happened here we could get analouge for a couple of days, you will have to retune in a few days they will tell you when to do it. I only watch sky as we have both maybe one day I will find out how to use the rmote lol leaving it all up to hubby to sort out. no idea if he has lol
