If they haven't called you by lunchtime on Friday - call them.

This is what I used to do when I was an employee (prospective!), I would call them (using mobile obviously ) and say 'we have a phone line problem here and didn't want you wasting your time trying to get through, BT say it should be clear by wotever'o'clock'

total rubbish, but I always felt that it 'refreshed' their minds as to who I was and just how much they wanted to employ me

Piskie you are a wee treasure! Must admit I have come away feeling positive especially with the question I was asked at the end.

"Will it be ok to start at the start of next week? I'll give you a phone on Friday to tell you about the job...."

Hope they don't want me to start on Tuesday as I'm picking up a shed for the allotments.

Oo, glad it went well, I was thinking about you today whilst I was putting in my parsnips (sorry I didn't respond to this thread yesterday, sometimes when I'm tired all I can do is read stuff, my brains too weary to cope with typing!), and wondering how you were getting on.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but it does sound hopeful .
