Advice over setanta

I signed up with setanta sport last month was told they had a 3 month trial then after that i would pay 27.98 for admin and then 12.99 a month after that. I was fine with that but then i received a letter saying that they were going to take the 27.98 on March 23rd! I contacted them saying this was not what I agreed too. They replied that I had to pay and could only cancel after being wiith them for 2 months.

I refuse to pay, they have disconnected their service but keep sending me letters and harrassing me with phone calls

Any ideas?

line them up in front of a firing squad? (no I don't condone violence - just preventing stress ) Seriously though, make a journal of the time and date of every call, if possible also log the persons name. This will help build a case for the harrassment....

lol this Jo had a simular problem from a company, eventually I started fielding the calls and politely told them to F$% off and that if they phoned again I would be calling the police and logging the harrassment with them as we had a journal withthe times and dates of each and every call and that OH was now to scared to answer the phone blah blah... the person then proceeded to ask me to speak to Jo.... then I lost it and was no longer polite and after swearing at him 3 languages and berating him for a few minutes, he hung up....funny though they never did call back.....

There was something on the tele could have been watchdog / tell dom about the poor service sentanta provided, some people payed for programs they could not receive and got no help when they called the company,

I had a similar problem with a certain broadband + phone calls company. After getting many letters and phone calls, and telling them the same thing every time, I wrote to their 'debt collecting' dept and told them to either stop whingeing or take me to court so that I could counter-sue for harrassment and breach of contract. The whole thing was dropped from that point! I don't think they have any intention of it going to court, they just want to harrass you into paying.

Have a read through your terms and conditions....you might have to give 2 months notice to cancel or they automatically take the admin fee.

The exact same thing happened to me last year except - I was in the wrong as I cancelled my DD with them with no notice - after a few phone calls I told them I wasn�t going to pay anything and got several letter and a few more phone calls � They would ask for me and I would say who is calling they would say setanta and I would say " I�m going to get him" and pop off to watch the telly when I went back 40 mins or so later they usually had hung up�. how rude!
Anyhoo the reason for my post - what happened this in September - they rang up and basically said we are all friends again and I can have two months free and some other stupid promotional things � In Feb I decided to bin them again rang up a number and they said I needed to write!!! I cancelled the DD again and had a few letters but no phone calls (I think they know they will have a long wait if they get through)
I am sure they are chancers and will offer you a discount to re join some time soon!

They must keep records about contact try leaving them connected while you wonder off and do something else It is very empowering and they stop calling

I tried doing that to Mr Sheds, but he just keeps calling back
