This morning the weather has taken a turn for the worse
severe frost has hit Essex big time

Hope it's not going to be another one like last year; the ground didn't warm up until the end of May and I've been told lots of people (on exposed allotments) lost plants they wouldn't normally have expected to loose owning to very late frosts.

Late frosts up to May aren't uncommon

Tis only March though, after all Frosts are to be expected in all parts of the country at least until early May. Up here we're not safe until the end of May, not because of global warming, that's just our normal climate

Re: Frost, can I ask what might be a really stupid question? How do you know if you're in a frost pocket and can some parts of the garden have a frost pocket and not others?
