Well as you said, Obama is now the most powerful man in the world, so was Clinton at his time in office, so was Bush (well, bye bye to him! what do he do anyway? like the rest of them in their time in office)

Sorry but one more thing to add, the 'inaugeration campaign' according to the media! has cost �120 million. There are people starving in this world but then again there's always the option for us people to give our �2 per month to save them by DD! Actions speak louder than words IMHO, put your money where your mouth is, but eh, I forgot, it ain't the 'people in powers' money anyway is it?

Well, I listened to the speech in my car, waiting for the old pony to finish eating. I don't think I've EVER purposefully sat myself down to listen to a politician's speech before! I was most disappointed to find that my friend, who I saw later, didn't even know the speech was on and just wasn't interested at all. My OH took no notice, either. Oh well!

In my books a person, is a person, is a person! It should not matter the colour of a persons skin! We are all god's children and should be seen as equals for that reason! There is nothing I would like more than world unity and for people to have more respect for one another inspite of colour or race! It is high time the world moved on from this race issue!

I do think it is good that after all this time there is a black person in such a powerfull job! If for no other reason just to show that there is now a little more equality in the world! Obama has wone the hearts of his nation and others around the world! If he can do the job as well as, or better than those that went before him then that will be a great thing! At the end of the day he is a man just the same as many others, all he can do is his best. People should not pre-judge! Give him time, lets see what he can do, we will see what he can achieve! At the end of the day he is not the only person around the world making desisions for the world! I for one wish him good luck and God speed!

I think that I have just listened to a great man speak.

I agree Piglet.

I had tears in my eyes during his first speech as President. He is so eloquent and appears to speak from the heart.

I would put his first speech on a par with the 'I have a dream' speech of Martin Luther King or 'We'll fight them on the beaches' speech of Winston Churchill!

Brilliant stuff and a brilliant man who will hopefully do a lot of good.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I HOPE he does the world justice. My husband has just came back from 6 months in Iraq and my best friend died on that tour!!! We lost a huge chunk of me out there - So yeh!..We can only hope that my husband and I and our unborn child will live in a world that is presided by a decent leader!!

This has nothing to do with why we log on to our gardening website. Dont make it a political battle because some people dont agree with the vote.
