I was always told that Cats, unlike Dogs and other domesticated animals, are considered to be 'free agents' by law. You cannot dictate where a cat will live, it will decide for its self. Some cats have two or three places they think of as home.

Before we moved, this summer, our Cat would go next door to do her 'business' much to my neighbour's annoyance. He fully understood why she did it, and that he couldn't change it, but he would set the hose on her if he got the opportunity. I couldn't blame him!

I get really fed up having to go out and check the garden before allowing little srodders out of the door. The cats average 2 lots per night. I use smell crystals and also ultrasonic detectors and am thoroughly naffed off with cats and their owners. However I would defend my neighbours right to own a cat and would never do anything to intentionally harm it.

I do wish cat owners would be responsible though. Most of them, in my experience, are not as most could not care less where their cats empty their bowels.

This thread has the ability to turn very nasty and personal, as other threads on cats have in the past - I hope the mods are keeping a close eye on it.
