    [QUOTE=HeyWayne;312488]Do you remember?

    Good way of learning some fruit and veg I'd say?

    Does anyone remember the Garden Gang - my kids loved them and the were all written and illustrated by a 11 year old - Jayne Fisher. They can still be found on Ebay or boot sales.

    Ladybird books - series 793 - the Garden gang

    Seek not to know all the answers, just to understand the questions.

      I loved the Munch Bunch books when I was younger (hence my name) and I also remember the garden gang (wasn't there a story about pea twins).

      Coming from the east end I suppose my favourite should have been Corky Coconut who spoke in ryming slang but I liked Peabody cos he wore glasses like me!

      I thought they were great books for kids and its a pity MB is just about dairy products now.

      It would be great if someone re-released them perhaps with packets of seeds to get kids into growing their own.

      I wished I'd kept the books after seeing the price they can sometimes go for on ebay!

        I kept my copy of The Hobbit to "pass on" to my daughter - but she is way too interested in her DS and High School Musical. Sign of the times I guess

          Not necessarily - I never read The Hobbit (or any Tolkein) as a child, still haven't. Just don't interest some.

            I think the problem for schools today, is that kids would rather watch the film than read the book. They are never as good, having said that they can be easier to get over.

            I read Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh as a kid, aswell as watched the film, the film didn't make me swear quite as much as the book did.
            I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

              So whilst we were all reading about unwanted vegetables living in a garden shed, you were reading about heroin additcion in mid 80's Edinburgh?!

              Next you'll be telling me that whilst I was reading about the adventures of Mr Bump and his friends you were reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
