We're just past the 28 week mark - in the final straight now! Whoop whoop!

Feeling better now - I've done a load of stretches today after a scalding hot bath, followed by an ice pack. I think my back/leg/hip/sciatica thing has just been getting to me, and having seen the state of the plot today, realised just how much I need to do. Hopefully back to full fitness again soon.

Now then, I'm sat here with a belly full (and I mean full!) of curry, on my second ale, and Children in Need should provide plenty of welcome relief.

      As you were.

It's seeing pictures like that makes you realise just how real things are now. Not sure if that's a lump in my throat or if it's my vindaloo repeating...

            Quote....

...What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

..Tis a special poem to me...enjoy and consider.....

I have quite a long cotoneaster hedge and it is scarlet and really beautiful at the moment. I am really amazed as we have had some strong winds recently. In amongst the scarlet there are new green shoots growing !

I think this is the most beautiful time of year.

Glorious sunrises and sunsets. Harvested produce to enjoy. Short days so little chance to work up a sweat. Nature all cosy and bedding down. Mellow and rich colours everywhere.

I'm fed up for all kinds of reasons ... but the garden looks fairly fine today. The sun is shining, my hanging baskets are still going, as is Lady Boothby fuchsia. The spring bulbs are pushing up ( a tad prematurely ) and the birdies are playing in the viburnum.

I just wish I could get to the lotty and play with some mud

It's one of those damp mornings here - November damp air just hovering and everything feels cold.

But outside the front window there's a weeping silver birch with just a few leaves left - about three in a cluster, clinging. It's beautiful.

There's another shrub/tree with red leaves still lingering - a dash of colour. There's something about the turning seasons I think - spring is great, summer is great but autumn and winter have their own beauty.

Now I sound like a slushy sentimentalist. And I've just remembered that hovering damp cold - time to put on another jumper.
