There are lots of winning Premium Bonds with unclaimed prizes,going back years, mainly for similar reasons to you
If you go to the post office you can get a form and they will do a search for you - you might be lucky!
If you decide you can't be bothered with them anymore they can be refunded for their face value

It's true that the return from Premium Bonds "on average" is much worst than many high interest bearing accounts/investments.
But they are safe and I've had over a 10% return, tax free, this year so far. So, at the moment, I'll stick with the PB's And dream of the knock on the door when I win a million You'll all be the first to know
