    Any one got a Mantis?

Mine has started to leak grease from the wheel shaft?

Is this happening to anyone else? Any one got a cure?

Hiya Nog. Do you mean from the rounded part at the bottom rear where the shaft goes through to the tines? If so there is a cover plate that is held in place by four screws. Under this plate is a gasket that seals the gearbox. Replacing the gasket should solve the problem. Not sure if the gasket can be bought seperately but one comes as part of the 'Handy Items Service Kit' that is available from the Mantis website.

Hope that has been of some help.

If you grease the worm drive at least once a year with high melting point grease the mantis will last for years i have had mine for 15 years still got the original spark plug in had no problem leaking grease though jacob marley

I have used mine for about 4 years and it got a bit hot on satueday so I decided that It may be time to top up the grease. I took the cover plate off the worm drive and topped it up but now it is leaking out of the Tine spindle. Think I have a worn bearing or seal.
