Actually, I am feeling quite snubbed Mrs Wellie. You never remark on my insightfulness or astonishing gardening knowledge. The dogs birthday passed by without a mention from you and where is my 'congratulations for nearly having a roof' card??

Sometimes I wonder about people's perspective on life Ignore them Wellie and get on with what matters to you.

I do not wish every one happy birthday etc etc....and by the time I get to read the thread it is a week old so no point. Does not mean I care any less. This person who pm'd you should realise that there was no intention by you of upsetting them. With such a thin skin how do they get on with life in general.

Take it with a pinch of salt and forget it...Your posts would be missed .....there you can't go now.

As peeps have already said there's some strange people out there - mind you I get so few PMs that I'd probably have just been amazed that anybody had bothered, suppose I don't send them either though.

Re the birthday thing, it's pretty rare I wish anybody a happy birthday etc on here, never check the thing on the front page which lists who's day it is today anyway. I know a few of you wished me a happy day back in August which was very kind but I didn't and wouldn't expect anybody to bother. Whilst I spend a fair bit of time on here and know bits and pieces about some of you it's not like you're my mum (would be quite upset if she forgot!). But then again, I don't feel the urge to discuss much about my personal life (not knocking those who do, honest!) and wouldn't post if I were pregnant, moving house, won the lottery etc as I have other friends for that sort of thing and prefer to stick to gardening stuff most of the time here as my other friends don't do that much!

Sorry for a bit of a random post, been a long day but suffice to say, don't understand why somebody would PM Wellie at all. However, if they care that much about an imagined slight by somebody whom I'm presuming they have never met then they're probably quite an insecure person.

How odd. But the internet is a strange thing, and attracts strange people. I had a 'stalker' on this forum last year, who sent me unsolicited and unwanted private messages. When I put that person on my 'ignore' list, they attacked me publicly.

Just rise above it. People do act strangely when they feel they can hide behind their keyboard.

Don't know what to say to that Wellie, except don't leave. So what if you don't reply to every single thread etc. Like you say your busy, we all are.
The Vine for me is somewhere to go for a bit of light chat and fun at the end of the day, certainly not the be all and end all.
Besides, I'd miss your blog, your potager is what I'd like my allotment to be like when it grows up!

I'd just like to say the person who sent that horrible message to you, is obvioulsy a jealous person, and I hope they read all the messages of good will to you, and maybe they should go back to their slug friends.

I would just publicly like to apologise to each and every member of this forum, for not saying Happy Birthday to you, patting you on the back for becoming Member Of The Month, getting pregnant, having a baby, winning a trophy in your local show, or not crying whilst taking your cat to the vet.

I do try hard to spread a little happiness on this forum, but occasionally yes, I will 'miss something', because I lead a busy life, and in no way is it a personal 'snub' towards you.

I was therefore mortified to receive a Private Message this morning, telling me that my lack of attention to them is "becoming as obvious as a slap in the face" and that "if it's just general dislike, perhaps I could do a better job of hiding it".

On the Plus Side, for me: this person has been assured by someone they've sought a character reference from, that "I'm not like that".

So, I'd just like to apologise to that person for not making them feel special enough, and Thank You, I'm flattered that my attention is so important to you.

But be assured of one thing, your Private Message has deeply distressed me, and any more personal attacks of that nature, from anyone, I shall have no hesitation in leaving this forum.

If you quit because of one illegitimate disciple of Onan, they have WON. The rule is "Nil Illegitimi Carborundum". People who send such messages are NOT worth being bothered by!
I am a regular poster on a forum where manners often fail to be enforced. The ONLY way to survive is to tell yourself that anyone like that is either 'having a bad day' (in which case they will apologise later) or simply beneath contempt!
