Very impressed with Dyson !!

My motor blew up on my dyson !! its almost 3 years old and is used daily.
The repair man came, replaced almost everything !! motor, cyclone, brushes, even the eletric cable !!! and upgraded it to a hep filter and all the pipes all for �65.00 and it has a 1 year guarentee. Its like a new hoover

If I remember correctly, they keep the details of your machine via its serial number so if you need to contact them again they can find your record easily. I had them out twice to repair my old dyson before it packed up and I invested in a new one. The old one had seen a lot of use in a house with 6 people though!

I worked at Electrolux for a few years and have since been programmed not to call vacuum cleaners "hoovers".

Whilst there I heard stories of how Mr Dyson had visited all the major manufacturers - including Electrolux, with this "loony" invention, and how Electrolux had regretted it's decision of shooing him away ever since. That was about 10 years ago.

I don't really get it??!!A hoover(sorry HW vacuum cleaner!)is a hoover!!My vax does what it says on the box(all beit with a little help from me!!)The day they invent one that can differentiate between rubbish & socks (or worst nightmare Polly Pockets shoes!!!)then I may muster some enthusiasm!!
My mate is a tad bit obbssessive with hoovering so I decided it was a rather apt choice for his birthday cake!~thankfully he's got a Henry~Mr Dyson wasn't too thoughtful to us cake makers when coming up with his design!!Would have been a nightmare to recreate!!

We 'killed' 4 Dysons before giving up, killed a Henry and now we're on a Sebo that has survived the longest so far

I hate Dysons. And they top the list of 'most repaired', so follows they must be 'most gone wrong'? I have a Hoover (an actual Hoover ), and I can mend it myself if it clogs up with anything, even the motor is cleanable if you have a vague notion of what you're doing - have you ever tried dismantling a dyson?!

We have a Bissell carpet cleaner which needed repair, it went back to the company - they sent labels to cover postage - had the motor refurbished, new water tanks etc, and that only cost �65 too.

I loved my dyson, a skip rescue, that after cleaning up and replacing the filters lasted me 4 years.
only better vacumn I have come across is a Vorwerk, my brother sold them as his first job out of school, lots of cat and dog breeders use them, but boy they last, my sister in law has had hers over 20 years, and only ever had one part replaced 2 years ago.

Having 5 dogs and anything up to 10 people in the house i hoover twice a day !! my dyson had done well to last 3 years !! i can empty it about twice a day !
I have a lovely old hoover 'junior' i would never part with but it has not got the suck of the dyson but is great upstairs I get a strange sense of pleasure seeing the cylinder fill up :lol

I remember mum and dad had one when I was little(r). It was bladdy heavy, but it worked really well. Lifted the carpet up as it sucked - and it had a headlight!

I actually spent 2 days of my life training up to be a rep!!VERY powerful hoover(sorry vac!!)We were warned when doing demos in peoples homes to stay well clear of the curtains!!In the end I couldn't get my head round the rip off pyramid sales techniques they used!..but did take advantage of having it in my possession for a few days & gave several family members homes the once over!!
