Makes me feel bl**dy lucky with my son.
He flunked out of college so only had O levels. I said if he wasn't going to college then he better get his a**e out there and get a job. Came home about 3 hours later and said he'd blagged his way into a salesman's job.
Realised he wasn't going to get very far in retail and joined an IT company.
All of a sudden he got the learning bug.
He's now 24, nearly finished his OU, where every module he has earned a distinction. Been studying and taking his Microsoft exams.
He has been working his way up as a developer, was comuting to and from Germany and Switzerland and holding down a long term relationship. Now earning approx £50k and looking to buy his first house.
So some do manage to turn themselves around. My daughter on the other hand .........
