Hello All I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get hold of some Elderberry and Sloe[Blackthorn] bushes or how to take cuttings of them if possible.

Elderberrys Please
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.Tags: None

It is possible to grow Elder from ripe seeds, or from semi-hardwood cuttings, taken from new growth (August). A 30cm (1ft) cutting should be taken and placed in a coir, grit and compost mix then over-wintered in a cold frame/greenhouse. Plant out the following spring.
I grow them from softwood cuttings taken in the spring. They will even root in a cup of water. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
