After months of rain, cold and then more rain, today was finally sunny. Yey! I'd begun to wonder why I was doing this, but today I know there are loads of good reasons........ here are my top five.
1, I picked my first picked peas of the season (then immediately ate them
)
2, A pumpkin plant doubled its size between 10am and 6pm (I'm gobsmacked every year when that happens)
3, My grandson happily eats all veg and fruit (except bananas
) and one of his first words was 'watering can'.
4, My plot now looks like an allotment again instead of a swamp
5, I'm walking around with a huge grin on my face even though I'm hot, filthy and aching.
Doesn't take much to make an allotmenteer happy, does it?

raddishes spinach sweetcorn butter beans french beans beetroot tatties pumpkins gourds mileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees off and runner beans are only just flowering and cucumber and peppers still have a long way to go as well. marigolds and nasturums are all up though so i got begginings of a mixed salad
