Pardon my 'hignorance, but why keep the history thingy open? I can't abide it though Madmax always has it open.Originally posted by smallblueplanet View PostThis now means that I cannot view the whole of the Forum whilst having the browsers 'history' side menu showing. This is very annoying as it means scrolling to read the whole message.
When we were asked about extending the forum width I thought a lot of posters were against it?
Mind you I am like Wayne and usually have a load of windows open, if Madmax uses my pooter he shuts all my windows then I am marginally kyboshed!!
Happy Gardening,
Shirley

If I open the history thing then the rest of the screen automatically resizes to fit the remaining gap, don't get the problem.
Re the site, thought it looked fine as it was and not too sure I like the font type on the quote, multi quote buttons etc but expect I'll stop noticing after a couple of days.

You can have it so that it "overlays" the screen too (there's a little icon the top-right of the history/favourites menu screen).Originally posted by Alison View PostIf I open the history thing then the rest of the screen automatically resizes to fit the remaining gap, don't get the problem.

So I can see where I've been. I prefer it that way. Why does MM use it? It could be Bookmarks/Favourites/Search not just History.Originally posted by shirlthegirl43Pardon my 'hignorance, but why keep the history thingy open? I can't abide it though Madmax always has it open.
I'm sure we'll have to accept the changes, but I've been on plenty of messageboards that are 'correctly' sized. I'd imagine this one's been changed for advertising reasons - if so why not just say so?Last edited by smallblueplanet; 22-05-2008, 04:02 PM.To see a world in a grain of sand

That's probably to do with your display settings - on this laptop & the PC 1024x768 is maximum viewable size.Originally posted by Alison View PostIf I open the history thing then the rest of the screen automatically resizes to fit the remaining gap, don't get the problem. To see a world in a grain of sand

Ermmm, because it hasn't been changed for that reason...Originally posted by smallblueplanet View PostSo I can see where I've been. I prefer it that I'd imagine this one's been changed for advertising reasons - if so why not just say so?
It's been changed because less and less people are using 800x600 resolutions and the more common screen res is 1024 x 768 by quite a margin. So the redesign has been optimised to cater for this.

Ah, I have mine set at 1280 x 1024 so that could explain why I still have spaces down the sides!Originally posted by Ben View PostErmmm, because it hasn't been changed for that reason...
