  • Must be something in the air...

A couple that work at the same company as me gave birth to a baby boy just over 2 weeks ago, another chap who works here's wife gave birth at the weekend, there's another dude who's girlfriend is due today. I found out that there are another three fellas who's partners are expecting sometime soon as well, then one of the chaps in estimating announced this morning that his wife is expecting in October. There may be more.

Wouldn't mind, but we're only 97 people in the company!

Then, got an email/call from my lil' sister earlier, her boyfriend proposed at the weekend.

    Happy times.

Just found out I'm gonna be a Nanny (yes I did name myself after a certain Mrs Ogg) again in the Autumn.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Reminds me of a joke I heard Ed Burns telling once on Mock the Week.

It won't be anywhere near as funny as hearing it, but it was him on a tube and there was a woman with a kid that just kept on going "mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum". The woman would eventually say "what?" and the kid would say something like "that man has a blue hat on", then a few minutes later "mum, mum, mum ,mum, mum, mum" the mum would answer "what" - a bit like hitting the snooze button on an alarm clock, then "that woman has green shoes".

This went on for a few minutes, then Ed Byrne said he heard the woman say the funniest thing he'd ever heard "...and to think, I was so happy the first time I heard you say that word!"

Obviously, he tells it better than I ever could.

I can relate to that I often think of changing my name from Mum......

Don't, LW sent me an email yesterday with all the facts and figures, do and dont's of getting pregnant. Folic acid, eating lots of dark green veg, cutting down on alcohol, etc etc.

                              Pressure's on!
