I love getting my hands among the soil, however being a nurse and reflexologist folk look at my hands and expect them to look clean and nice so I have to be a bit careful.
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Well, yesterday I started off with really good intentions and wore gloves to dig my beds out - then wanted to weed around my garlic, so the gloves came off so I could be a bit more delicate - and then of course they stayed off! It's always like that with me - gloves for the first half hour or so then take one off for something a bit fiddly and forget about them in the joy of feeling the earth and growing things!!

Oh, and I had a tetanus around Nov when I burnt myself so hopefully I'll be okay for a few years on that score?
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

I would be wearing gloves if I have to deal with worms, harvesting squash and cucumbers. I have phobic to worms and got allergic skin reactions to squashes and cucumbers vine . Other than those, I don't wear any gloves at all.

I'm not a glove person either, though by June my hands are permanently compost stained, dried out and covered in nicks, hacks and cuts !!!

            Hi

I have been brought two pairs of gloves as presents, but prefer to feel the soil between my fingers. I only use gloves if I am dealing with manure.

I wear gloves most of the time - jersey ones for digging etc, heavy duty ones for brambles, nettles etc and latex for planting seeds. I don't wear gloves when weeding but my hands become very dry and will crack if the soil is too damp.
