Card cloning

It appears that no matter what you know or how hard you try, your card can be cloned. I was having my card declined on the internet and assumed internet glitch/solo refusal. When both my debit and credit cards were declined, I eventually phoned my bank. My cards have been stopped. Someone has cloned one of them. Have you tried going Xmas shopping with no money?

I've taken money out of my savings account and bunged it on my credit card but it won't be available for "3 working days". I can't even pre-book carparking at the airport.

I'm so pissed off I'm spitting feathers.

How frustrating for you when you've so much to sort out at this time of year.
I'm sorry you've had to go through all that.

Thank goodness the bank HAS stopped the use of the cards though- or you'd of had a nasty bill next month.

Will you manage to get replacement cards in time for the Sales????

I think you'll have to tell everyone Xmas is their shout this year! ( now there's an excuse!)

What a bother! Good luck with getting it sorted and as said before - at least the bank noticed!!!

By the way - I reckon we should be compensated by the Government for the hassle, stress and worry involved with them losing all our personal records!

Good thing the bank was on the ball. Not so good that you need to wait 3 days to access you own money! The thieves can get it straight away. No wonder you're angry.

Oh Janie, that is bad enough at any time, but right now must be the worst. Try not to let it spoil your christmas - and make up for it in the sales when you have your own money back again (dreadful that you should have to wait for it, just appauling) and treat yourself to something to make you smile.

Really sorry to hear that, it's embarrassing enough if you get your card declined but then to find out it's been cloned & some other b*st*rd has been spending your money, I'd be fuming!

I had the same thing happen to me, I found out my card had been stopped at a garage, put �50 of fuel in ready for family holiday in france the next day and the card was refused. the only thing i could do was hammer the credit card and try to be sensble and pay it off as soon as poss when we got back.

Yes it was a major inconvenience but things could have been a lot, lot worse. Give it a couple of weeks and then sign up for one of the free credit check trials just to make sure not only your cards were cloned!
