Fake Tan !

Great advice chaps and chaplets!

Thanks Alice - I've got Fake Bake and St. Tropez on my list. I've got to do the arms as well! Unfortunately Shirl the old stage cake is a horrible orange and sadly normal foundation just runs off with one's sweat (yeah! done em all! - South Pacific in 1983 had us looking fantastic shades of orange).

So shattered I must have fallen asleep at about 9.30 and just woken up!

This may be too late Jennie:
Piz Buin is a great one, about a tenner I think. Those "summer skin" ones are very dilute, don't bother.
To avoid darker knees, elbows etc, rub some plain moisturiser on your drier bits to dilute the fake tan a tad - it really 'grabs' dry skin.
To clean your hands afterwards: some sugar and Fairy will get it off. Remember inside of your wrists too.

This is a really quick visit to the Grapevine tonight. Been in rehearsal all afternoon for our 2-Act comedy opening on Wednesday with a full dress rehearsal. My Johnson Summer Holiday "tanned legs" didn't meet requirements and the American Tan tights, looked well just like American Tan tights

Can anyone - yes you NTG and PW as well recommend a good fake tan that I might be able to get tomorrow and have for the final dress rehearsal on Tuesday evening.

Only got a Boots here, so nothing fancy please ........... thankyou Just off for my tea ......... but perhaps I'll get a chance to speak later.

I would volunteer to put it on for you, but my guards would probably slap me!!!

I only tried fake tan once, but it was a bit of a disaster, so don't make the same mistakes I did! Make sure your skin is almost totally saturated with moisturiser before you start, otherwise you will end up more streaky than a side of bacon. Not a good look, especially as it won't wash off!! I think you can get mist sprays now rather than the sponge ones which I used.

Sorry I cant help with the fake tan solution but just wanted to wish you well - 'break a leg' I believe is the right thing to say?!?! Good luck with it!

Managed to get a spray on this morning from Boots and am now browning as I type! Will let you know if it is successful. Bumped into one of the others in the play and she had managed to book herself in for a spray tan at the local tanning shop here (I didn't even know we had one!). It will be interesting seeing the results.

My part is a rather chaotic woman who becomes more manic as the play progresses (I always seem to get these parts!), so a few streaks in the tan might not be noticed - I'm never still enough on the stage!

Rather chaotic, becoming more manic.... Hmmm! Had we known sooner what part in the play you had, we could all have applied our Johnsons 'Holiday Skin' and given you a Virtual Dress Rehearsal on Sunday Night Chat last night!

.....suspect that a virtual dress rehersal even if we all were Johnson'd up may not have helped as well don't all have our lines....?

Remember that a bad dress rehearsal usually leads to a great opening night. How long is the run?

Hi Jennie, sorry I'm too late with my suggestion but if you're stuck again I found a good product this summer - it's Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan sun make-up. It's only a wash off product but it has lycra in it & makes your legs look great. I don't think you would 'sweat it off' on stage as I wore it on nights out a few times & didn't end up with it streaked everywhere.Hope the play goes well. Break a leg!
