Thanks for the offer NOG, but having taken the time and trouble to have done the best (as I thought) to look after my teeth, only to be told I had wasted my time, insofar as I am going to end up a toothless old crone - falsies are a no-no. The very thought makes me retch.

Dentistry is the most useless branch of medicine. You can do everything you think will protect your teeth, but if anything goes wrong, your dentist has nothing to offer you, other than a toothless future!!

I believe that with tooth implants these days your dentist can indeed offer you a tooth-ful future, all be it a poverty stricken one.

You need to be referred to a Dental Surgeon, Hazel. A quotation I heard some years ago was 1,000 per tooth. I wouldn't need the full set of 32, but it could be quite an expensive exercise. It seems like a case of either/or, you afford either the teeth or food.

Ah well its a rollover tomorrow night, and I might be able to have both.

I have no teeth in my lower left jaw (cancer). I was offered tooth-implants, and was supposed to be impressed with the 15,000 price tag, but I didn't want to be cut open again, so I declined.
I wish I'd taken an I.O.U on the 15 grand so I could afford some physiotherapy now!

I have been wearing dentures for 32 years & I am still on the first set.
I can eat most things. But I have trouble biting an apple and things with small seeds & nuts can be some times painful(if they get under the plate) But all in all I have few problems

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
