Hopefully next years comp can be talked up from springtime, giving everybody lots of time to grow and photo their crops. Its certainly promoted a lot of interest within the grapevine and indeed without.

When my son and daughter in law were here visit last week I picked quite a bit of veg (well showing off really) and pulled five absolutely perfect, uniform, carrots straight off. Bet I won't be able to do that in another year.

Well done to you all - its been a priviledge to judge all your entries.

fun categories will be good - would be a good laugh making a scarecrow with the kids!
and a "best newbie" category could be very encouraging for first time growers

Wonder where the judges have got to? They must be deep in discussion about their choices (or are they hiding).

I have just spent a while looking at some of the classes - sure wouldn't fancy trying to judge them.

As well as results, it would be good to find out why each won the class so we know how to improve our chances in future (and if we ever get to enter real shows).
