Seems I should have been grateful, you all seem to have it much worse than I did.

They have finished now and it was so nice to have the house back last night, my poor cats were going mad the food was moving from room to room and they hid in the office with me most of the time.

The fllor still has a residue of grout which will take ages to clean completley but it is my mess and my house Now the OH wants the living room done and has lifted half the floor already Of course we can't afford it just now so I am living in chaos!

Glad you've got it all finished now Mandy, tell O.H. to put that floor back down immediately! The cat we inherited from the neighbours spent most of the time under a bush at the bottom of the garden when the builders were here. She's very nervous & especially not keen on men so she only ate before they arrived & after they'd gone.

Glad you've got your floor finished Mandy. If you haven't started to it, the grout cleans much more easily with the hoover and a soft brush rather than starting by washing.
We had the builders in about 20 years ago. They turned up late every morning, left early every day and took 9 months to do the job ! In the end I couldn't give them tea (never mind biscuits) as I only had 2 cups left in the house. The rest were all round the garden where they had abandoned them. I'm not sure I've ever really recovered from that
