    bacon and brie baguette with red currant jelly or a good ole hog roast baguette.

    Shame I can no longer eat any thing piggy - it tastes sooooooooooo good!

    Edit: to be a pain I don't say either I have butties which tend to be hot and sarnies which tend to be cold.

      Hot- bacon, fried onions and sauce. Which is equal measures of tomato ketchup, brown sauce mix with a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
      Cold - tuna, spring onions, cucumber & mayo.

      All on homemade made bread or rolls.

        Ooooh! Cheddar and black currant jam in white bread, brie avocado and cranberry in thickly sliced whole meal, can’t beat a bacon buttie, hot beef and mustard/horseradish, hot pork and stuffing, sausage sliced tomato with lots of pepper in a toasted pita bread.

            As a kid in the early 1950's my Grandma used to make me a sandwich with chunks of 5 Boys chocolate bar inside it, I think this might have been before chocolate spread was around.

              I remember the first time I went abroad to stay with a pen friend in Paris (age 12). One day my pen friend's mother gave us a snack of chocolate sandwiches (made with crusty bread). I think that may well be when I fell in love with France.

                    All of those sound great. Looks like I'll have to try a bit of experimentation.

                      Can't wack a fried egg sarnie methinks. Failing that its marmalade on toast.

                            There was also a cafe in Camden that done kofta in a toasted baguette with a yoghurt garlic cucumber dressing, god we murdered them

                                Deffo, butter has to go on cold toast so it doesn't sink in and you can put a good thick layer on. I have high cholesterol anyway and won't take Statins but I will still eat what I like and be dammed.
