I'm meant to be at work at 7.30 really but last year I let it slip quite often, whilst my boss is great about it. Lol

I made it a new years resolution to get there early!

I have to cross two train lines, I've had to wait for 7 trains before the gates go up on occasion.. 4 or 5 trains is quite common.

So now I get up an hour earlier to make sure I beat the trains!

Goodness but it is so cold out there. Trees on the shady side of the valley are heavy with frost. It sounds like it's raining on the sunny side, with it all dripping off.

Trying to get ahead of myself again today, workwise and foodwise. Doubtless Mr Snoop will hope it's rice pud for breakfast, but he's got another think coming.

I'm about to make coffee if anyone wants one.

The greenhouse is still mostly there this morning, emergency repairs are under way... hopefully it'll stay ok through the next blast later today. Keep your fingers crossed for me, pretty please.

Ps raining so hard tape isn't sticking fixed it up with pegs from the washing line but we're forecast 50mph gusts this after..... It's in the hands of the Gods now

Watched Queen Bohemian Rhapsody last night which I thought was great.

Spent the afternoon sorting out my seed box.

It's a little on the 'blowy' side here, although I'm down in the south east so we dont see the worst of things as a rule!

Hope those that have experienced the worst have little or no damage!

I'm having a glass or red and going through the seed delivery... HEAVEN!

...and I've just read that my bluebell seed needs to be put in the fridge for a month and a half!

We still have lots of wet blowey stuff going on outside.
The old oak roof timbers are creaking like an old sailing ship!
Quite exciting really.
It'll be interesting to see the state of the garden at daylight.

We were going to a wood yard later today to find some seasoned oak for replacement window sills etc -we'll see.

Mollycat didn't like the look of it and turned back inside. Neither did I but needed to reassure myself that the greenhouse was still standing now the wind has dropped..... and …..it is. All the best wishes must have helped
Hopefully we'll get a couple of calm days now, so I can get it fixed.

Allotment AGM this evening, see what everybody thinks of the new T&Cs - that's if anybody bothers to turn up at all, apart from the committee
