Thanks Snoop, I needed that. I gave one to a Latvian girl doctor yesterday. She was here in Sheffield on her own at Christmas and her Grandma was taken into hospital on Christmas Eve in Latvia and died on New Year's Day. Makes you glad of friends and family and grateful for welcome hugs. On a lighter note I'm about to make an apple pie

Spent part of the day tidying presses and drawers.
Partly because I had been saving €2 coins in a tin.
Opened it before Christmas and OH took it to the bank and got a bank draft.
Searched everywhere for it over the Christmas period with no luck.
Finally found it today in a drawer that I never use.
I owe St Anthony big time.

Just had someone over to give a quote on 2exterior doors and a small staircase.
You know sometimes you just know they're not going to be the right ones???!
Well...I'm more than happy to be proved wrong but I have a gut feeling that they want to sell us ultra top quality at an ultra top quality price

Good evening, had my granddaughter on the phone earlier she was in tears because someone had smashed off a wing mirror from her car, it was in a car park while she was at work, so guess who's going down with her tomorrow morning when she goes to pick up her car and she starts her work at 11.30 so I don't even get a long lie in bed enjoy your day tomorrow and keep smiling

Blue skies everywhere except the bit between us and the sun. Solar panels and batteries going hungry.

Not such a cold night, but not what I'd call warm this morning. Will have to get the range going very soon.

Had a very friendly meeting with the builder last night. What do you do when a really lovely person lets you down? I had my rant the other day. Didn't need another.

Off to another meeting this evening, this one about a proposal for 84 wind turbines in our area.

More of the same today, workwise. So better hop to it.

Oh, surprising how two days of no alcohol after the festive excesses already seems to be helping my crise de foie, as the French would put it.

Mornings!
I've not long surfaced after a good night's sleep. Couldn't resist weighing myself after 3 days, and 2lb lost already. I know it is only water at this stage but it's always encouraging at the start Onwards and upw�.. downwards!

Grey and damp after more overnight rain and just 5C, so apart from cutting some cabbage and swede, don't think anything will get done on the plot for a while. Must start taking a bag of compost round on my trolley, each time I go, ready for the 'grow potatoes in big pots' experiment. It seems to work for the youtube brigade, so fingers crossed.
