  • How to use a 3 disk food mill

Last year I bought a 3 disk food mill to make some tomato puree from my glut of toms.
    It processed the toms well.

Unfortunatly there were no instructions on what the three disk could be used for.
I suspect one use might be mashed spuds.

But I am sure there must be other uses.

Specificaly what is each disk used for?

    Thanks
    Jimmy

If you just want to remove skins, then use the disk with largest holes. I use this one to mash potatoes as well.
The middle one I use for making apple puree, it leaves some texture'
To remove small seeds, use the disc with the smallest holes, obviously all but that disc will let those seeds through... that's the one I use for seedless raspberry or bramble jam. Can't stand the seeds getting under my 2 false teeth... and this one leaves everything completely smooth.

I've got a colander/sieve attachment for my Kenwood Chef its similar to your food mill its really handy at taking the pips out of blackberries when making jams.

Thanks again, the more info the better.
Might have a go at mashed spuds.
I have just bought a waffle maker and potato waffles sound good.

Saw a few items on more unusual contents like pumpkin waffles.

            Anyone any weird recipies?
