Thanks, bario1. I can get Delikett locally. I tried those once, thinking they were mangetouts. Maybe that's why I didn't enjoy them - picked them before the peas had developed, so I was eating all pod!
I think the optimum time to pick is when they're about 3" long and they've just started to swell - if they get too fat they become a bit starchy. If there are actual peas inside then you've left them too long!
