really happy with my pie maker , wondering if the electric donut maker is any good , the donuts are very small but is the taste any good has anyone found a good recipe

I used one years ago, donuts tasted fine although as you say they are very small! Think I still have it somewhere, must dig it out and if you find a good recipe, perhaps you could share it?
Edited to say if I remember correctly the donuts don't taste like 'real' donuts!

One of my kids got a Simpsons one from Argos. They were small and more cake like than doughnut. I make a dough in my bread machine then just shape them and fry them myself. They come out superbly and the bread machine has done all of the hard work. I just shove it in and leave it to do it

A proper donut needs frying - preferably in a 50/50 mix of lard and vegetable oil. I don't bother anymore, since I've got a fresh donut stall that fries to order only 150yards from home.What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

I just put some oil in a Saucepan. They fry ever so quickly on one side, then I flip them over they get the line in the centre, then out and onto kitchen paper then sprinkle with sugar. I don't have an electric one but instead a little handheld device that plops the dough into a pan of hot oil in the shape of a doughnut.
I use a slightly stiffer than normal vanilla cake batter and roll them in caster sugar.
It works great and only cost me 50p at a car boot sale!
