  • Strawberry Icecream

    Hi
Found this recipe in an icecream machine book, absolutely delicious.

    450g strawberries
    juice of half a lemon
150g icing sugar or more if wanted
    350ml double cream.

puree the strawberries add the lemon juice and sieve in the icing sugar, mix and add double cream, mix together and add to icecream machine to churn.
This made 8 servings and somehow have only managed to eat one of them so far, and have got another lot of strawberries ready to go once the icecream machine has refrozen.
Oh the bliss of having too many strawberries...
    best wishes

Is your machine a magimix? the recipe sounds like the one we make with ours! can I suggest you try eating the ice-cream with biscotti - very delicious!

No I've got one of those Phillips ones with the inside bit that has to be frozen. Biscotti sounds good, something almondy would go very well I think, do you make them?

Our machine is one of the cheapy ones, where you keep its 'bowl' in the freezer. Very good though and easy, producing ice-cream like nothing you can buy!

Normally we buy the biscotti - there used to be a very yummy organic Italian version that Sains sold. But not the small shop near us, so we are going to try making some.

There's a simple sounding recipe in 'cookies, biscuits & biscotti' by Linda Collister (£4.99 ryland, peters & small), will let you know what they taste like.
