  • Ice cream recipe wanted

    Hi all, im looking to make some large batches 4Ltr+ of some various homemade ice cream however all the recipes i have found are all 'serves 4' 'serves 8' etc, does anyone have a simple recipe for bulk quantities?

    what i'm really after is a recipe that makes say a litre of unflavoured base that i can then play around with

    This is the basic vanilla recipe for my Cuisinart maker.

    330ml milk
    250g sugar
    650ml double cream
    2tsp vanilla extract (optional for your base)

    Dissolve the sugar in the milk first then add the rest.

    I add broken biscuits such as bourbon creams at the end of the mixing; this was very popular with the kids.

    The Ben & Jerry recipe is a little more complicated .

    Whisk 2 eggs for 2 minutes, whisk in 3/4 cup of sugar a little at a time then whisk for another minute. Pour in 2 cups of double cream and 1 cup of milk and whisk to blend. That makes about 2 pints (~1 litre). Again I add broken cookies to this for the last few minutes of mixing.

        OITC has a brilliantly simple recipe... I'll ask him to post it.
        When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
        If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

          Dead easy Italian Style Ice Cream.

          Take one can of condensed milk, a pint of cream and a few drops of vanilla.
          Combine with a fork (dont whip).
          Freeze.
          Stir about an hour later.
          Refreeze.
          Done
          Quanti canicula ille in fenestra ?

            And increase quantities as required... This doesn't last long in our house!
