you need an app for an i/smart phone (i only know cause i asked 18yo) get an app for mine then says I.....MOTHER was the response your phone doesnt have apps

Hee hee - I downloaded a barcode reader app. to my iPhone last night - and it worked on this one.

There was something a bit like that on a big poster at Gatwick airport last week, really annoyed me as it's like a private code that you have to look up / find a teenager to explain. Why the hell can't they just tell you it's a smart phone appy thing and those of us that aren't interested don't have to waste time finding out. Did think some of the food looked good on the programme though and was meaning to have a look to see if they had a web site with it on.

As for the scanning thing you need a 'phone that you can use Apps on .I have a phone that uses the Android Operating System and this morning I installed QR Droid and scanned the code on last ep of The Good Cook that I had recorded and that gave me all the ingredients and instructions for cooking a Roast Chicken etc .Quite a useful App I'd say ..Saves you looking for pen and paper .

Oh I've no problem with the app itself just the way in which they're cropping up on screens and posters all over the place with no explanation. Thankfully I already know how to roast a chicken so no worries there

Just downloaded barcode scanner and have been playing with it. i can imagine hours of endless fun now.
