Christmas pudding

    At Christmas, we are where electricity is rationed. If we want a steamed pudding, we have to actually steam it on the gas cooker (or the fire).
    Christmas dinner is cooked on the log fire if at all possible (sometimes need to cook veggies on the gas).
    Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

      Ooh your Christmas sounds lovely - I imagine candle light, cooking on the fire and lots of parlour games. Back to what Christmas should be imho.

        Never heard of stir up Sunday before I moved north,now its part of the tradition. I've been making Christmas Puddings to an old recipe of my grandmothers for many a moon.The recipe contains no flour so makes a very light pudding. Its very interesting to see other peoples take on the Christmas pud.
