  • Not what to cook but how to cook it.

Not strictly what to cook but rather how to cook it.
A quick project I'm busy with before the weather turns is a pizza oven just outside the kitchen door. It can be used for all sorts of cooking - including the Christmas dinner.
I've posted the first "episode" here if anyone's interested, and hopefully next years harvest will be in for some interesting recipes.

Well, I for one am very impressed, think of the money you'll save on heating our oven, "Jamie Oliver" has a pizza oven and he cooks Lot's of yummy looking food in his, I don't know if you've seen the series but it's well worth having a look at, more so with you having a pizza oven. I look forward to the next instalment.

Looks really good! Looking forward to further updates.

Here's a link to the one PW made:

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom

Thanks for all the positive comments
I've just checked PW's site and that's a damned nifty oven and a lot less than it's costing me
Heading for a soak now as my back's got a permanent kink in it. Lot's done today and I've remembered to taske pics as I went so after tomorrow's efforts it might be time to post episode 2 if I have enough strength left to press the keys and not fall asleep as I'm doing it.
I just hope it does what it's supposed to when it's finished

You know they look similar to my C17th bread oven attached to my house!

                  10 a penny here

We just need to replace the doors on the front to keep the heat in- and it'll be working perfectly!

I'd certainly have one Willinthegarden in the UK garden if we'd stayed there- the taste is fantastic!!!!

                    Wow!

This is definitely going on the 'projects' wish list!

OH has been talking about getting a brick BBQ and clay oven built since we moved in (18 months or so) but for the first 12 months we only managed to destroy/remove unwanted things from the garden!

I've managed to get the base down for my freecycled GH now but not get the GH built so it's a slow process!

Pizza oven has got to move up the priority list though!

Err - what I really mean is NO progress this weekend LOL. I've posted progress up to close of play on Friday, including my mistake and change of plans.
