To intensify the depth of the meaty flavour in chilli or ragus which can be a bit tomatoed out or overpowered by other flavours

I would give it a taste and then put salt in only if needed..... Knorr is a blend so has seasoning in already.

I remember the adverts from years ago but my mother never used them so I haven't either! Although she never used onions or garlic but happily I discovered them long ago
I guess its a bit like adding worcestershire sauce or anchovy essence... it adds something but nothing that you can put your finger on.
I used to use OXO cubes, then I discovered Kallo. It's like going from the cheapest instant coffee to the one that not everyone can tell from the 'proper' stuff! Kallo cubes don't contain MSG, most others do.....

Agreed, never looked back since discovering these, hate the underlying taste of the MSG when added
Umm, yeah, I always do that. Makes it easier to only use half a cube and wrap the rest back up too. (Although I'm probably the only skinflint to want to use half a cube )
Nope - I do too! I find a whole cube too salty!
How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

Yes, realised this weekend that's what I use, which is probably why I don't crumble and just lob them in. They cost more but taste much better and I don't use them that often so all good.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
