fiona - that means taking the taste test - and by the time we've screwed our faces up every day, we've either eaten them all or the birds have .........
i've got 3 gooseberry bushes in the garden, 2 huge ones on the allotment, tons of gooseberries to pick ........ but i'd still rather not do the taste test !!

We pulled out all gooseberyy bushes from the garden to make a veggie patch.I have another bush growing beside the gas tank.I'm not overloaded with gooseberry but raspberries are my problem every year!

Might be absolutely disgusting, but I've just remembered a thing my mum makes...marshmallows,cream & a tin of two fruit all mixed together(think she actually uses dream topping, but cream sounds far more posh!!!)...anyway,it looks a bit like sick, but tastes surprisingly good,if not a little too sweet...might swapping the two fruit with some gooseberries work a little better???

        ...or not???

The estate garden I work in has one gooseberry bush - went to check the fruit bushes on Monday - sawfly all over the bush so no luck there.
However, the posh walled garden has about twenty or so mature bushes, just dripping with goosegogs, and about another dozen or so hiding in the flower beds that the birdies have helped spread and these too are dripping with fruit - bumper harvest this year
