Remoska Recipes

Hi,

Does anyone have any recipes suitable for a Remoska - I'm really looking for recipes adapted for the Remoska as opposed to the recipes from the Remoska cookbook. Any ideas?

I'm sorry Frosty, but I'm going to go off at a bit of a tangent, insofaras you have bought one of these machines. I've looked at them in the Lakeland catalogue, and been tempted, but would like to hear from someone with a machine, and their personal experiences, ie is it as good as the adverts say.

Yes Valmarg, it is. We have had one for around 7 years. Take it camping and also use it at home. There are only two of us here and I can cook virtually anything in it that you would normally use an oven for, including roast potatoes, rice pudding!! etc. I have even cooked part baked rolls in it. Last night I cooked an apple crumble and it came out perfect. I am more likely to make something on the quick using the Remoska if I do not have anything else to go into the main oven.

Lakeland now do different size base pans but we only have the original (which I think is the medium size) and we do have the rack which is ideal for heating up a pie or something. At 500watts heating it is very economical and unlike a basic microwave, it will crisp things rather than presenting them soggy.
Wouldn't be without mine but I do accept that they appear to be an expensive outlay. Horses for courses I think.
FRECKLEFACE - I think it's a case of experimenting but basically, if I can cook it in the main oven then I can cook it in the remoska. It just take a bit of getting used to with timing everything so it all comes out at the same time!!

Hi All,

Yes I bought the Grande Remoska, even though there is only hubby and me. Just looking for any "made up" recipes from other owners. Made the most delish chicken curry over the weekend and there are loads in the freezer. Love cooking my veg in the remmie - baked carrots with caraway seeds - droolingly fab. Tonight it's fruit scones. Has anyone tried making jam? I know I should buy the cookbook but is it any good? You get a tiny wee cookbook with the remmie and some of the recipes are yeuchy (link is listed in previous post). Hubby and I like tortillas in the cookbook it says use 10eggs for 2 people - sorry but that makes me want to barf - who can eat 5 eggs? Valmarg - would highly recommend getting a Remoska

Bravoska

Hi, I've got a Bravoska and it's brill. The advantage is that you can have the heating element on the bottom (stews) or the top (bread, cakes etc). After researching between the Remoska or the Bravoska (which is made by the same people I believe) I've not been disappointed.

Just Googled bravoska and I WANT one! The Remoska is fab but the Bravoska looks more versatile.

Hi. ive had my bravoska for couple of years now but so far only use it for heating ovenchips though have roasted a chicken couple of times.
I want to be adventerous ........can you share any main meal recipes that will satify a single mans appetite.thankyou

Another highjack
Having dithered over a Remoska and the new halogen cookers I plumped for the halogen as I thought the Remoska might be too easy for the cats to tip over.
Anyone got one of these?
My new oven is crap and out of guarantee so I'm longing to get on with some good non oven top cooking.

I have used remoskas for many years as i have no oven in the summer when the rayburn is out, I cook anything that I would cook in the oven in winter in it they are brilliant once you get the timing right. I love only having one pan to wash for a roast dinner and no dirty oven.
