  • Cavalo Nero sprouts

My Cavalo Nero is just beginning to bolt. Can I eat the shoots, bit like purple sprouting broccoli?

Was thinking of putting them in pasta, with anchovy oil and chilli.

You can eat all parts of a brassica (maybe not the roots!!)

I think the shoots are nicer than the leaves!

We had some tonight, just steamed. They were excellent: sweet, nutty, very tender. Better than purple sprouting broccoli I reckon.
